Despite blasting "diet meals" in the Bowflex commercial, fitness model TJ Hoban tells TMZ -- he got his shredded abs nearly ENTIRELY by eating well ... not from using the Bowflex machine. Shocker.
According to TJ -- who proved his abs were 100% legit last night in Hollywood by lifting up his shirt -- the real secret behind a chiseled stomach isn't busting your ass on some trendy machine ... "It's all about diet man."
It's pretty crazy ... considering TJ squarely bashes diet plans in the Bowflex commercial -- claiming, "no diet plan" can build muscle and burn fat like the Bowflex machine.
We called Bowflex for comment -- no word back yet.

Audrina Patridge's stalker was just sentenced to two years in prison -- but dude could be released within the next couple of months due to time already served ... TMZ has learned.
Zachary Loring -- who was arrested outside of Audrina's home earlier this year -- pled no contest to felony stalking in June ... but was ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation to see if he should be sent to prison or a mental institution.
The judge ended up sentencing Loring to two years in prison today -- but the guy was given credit for 546 days already served in custody (including credit for good behavior).
That means Loring could be free by the beginning of next year -- but he was ordered by the judge to stay 500 yards away from Audrina for the next 10 years.

Mel Gibson caused a minor traffic accident yesterday, when his front bumper met somebody's back bumper in Phoenix, Arizona.
We're told no one was injured -- a cop came to the scene but no one was cited. Both vehicles sustained minor damage. After exchanging insurance information, both parties went their separate ways.
We're told Mel is in town to visit his father, who is hospitalized in Phoenix.
Mel hasn't had the best luck on the road, just last year he crashed his 2008 Maserati in L.A. But cops say he acted like a total gentleman after the wreck.

Sasha Grey insists she had nothing to do with a "pathetic" porn company's attempt to donate proceeds from its new film "Anal Artists" to Read Across America -- telling TMZ, the company's trying "to capitalize on Read Across America, controversy, and my name."
Assence Films announced it was donating proceeds from the film to Reading Across America in support of Sasha's "recent efforts to expose children to the world of literature" -- but Sasha says she's never even heard of the company.
Sasha tells us, Assence is exploiting her by trying to "re-package and re-sell an outdated, previously-available scene by touting it as one of my last scenes."
But Sasha doesn't know what's worse ... "the fact that people are now misled to believe I’m personally selling this movie with salacious marketing, or the fact that the [National Education Association] won’t take donations from this pathetic company."
Sasha adds, "There’s little money for education in this beautiful country, and as a pro-education advocate, it’s heartbreaking to hear this."
TMZ broke the story ... Grey -- who once won a Best Oral Sex award for her role in "Throat: A Cautionary Tale" -- participated in Read Across America at Emerson Elementary School in Compton, CA back in November.
Sadly, Sasha says the program has since been shut down at the school "because of one lone disgruntled fan who harassed my parents, the school district, the media and me, for my involvement in such an important program."
Jermaine Jones Will Be Kicked Off 'American Idol' | TMZ.com
Jermaine Jones will be kicked off "American Idol" Wednesday night, after producers learned he concealed the fact that he was arrested twice last year and has outstanding warrants ... TMZ has learned.
As we first reported, producers discovered Tuesday that Jermaine had lied about his criminal history and that triggered the decision to confront him on camera Tuesday afternoon.
We're told one of the incidents involved violence, which was particularly troublesome to producers. He also lied to cops by giving them fake names both times he was arrested.
"A.I." sources tell us ... Jermaine will appear on the show tomorrow night before he is sent packing.
Over the last few days, we've been reporting that Jermaine told producers his father abandoned him 10 years ago, but his dad called TMZ and called B.S. on his son, saying they see each other regularly.
Jermaine began tweeting that he never told producers about his dad abandoning him. We're told the producers -- who knew Jermaine had made the statement -- became generally suspicious and began looking more closely at his background, and that's what led to the revelation of his criminal history.

In between custody battles, tractor stand offs, and being arrested ... comedian Katt Williams somehow rakes in $28,000 a MONTH -- this according to new legal docs.
You may recall ... Katt won back custody of his 8-year-old adopted daughter from his former nanny in December -- after a protracted legal battle -- and just filed new documents in the case, updating L.A. County Superior Court on his financial status.
In the docs, Katt lists his average monthly income as $27,778 -- money he claims to make as a freelance comedian.
Katt’s got some serious disposable income too -- according to the docs, his monthly expenses are only $7,000 ... leaving him roughly $20K a month to blow on whatever he wants, like bail.
Comedian money -- what a joke.
